On Sunday our U14 girls travelled to Glasgow to play in the Finals of the Scottish Cup. Having won the East pool, they were drawn against the runners-up from the West/Midland pool in the form of Perthshire. Our girls got off to a dominant start scoring 3 goals in only the first quarter. Despite having all the possession they failed to convert in the second quarter but after half time they added another 3 goals and finished with a further 2 in the last quarter to finish off with an 8-0 win. Goalscorers in the game: Amy M (3), Ellie O (2), Julia (1), Amelie M (1), Emily MacP (1)

In the other semifinal Grange beat Clydesdale Western 3-1 to bring about an all-Edinburgh final. Having beaten Grange 1-0 in a tightly fought contest in the pool stages, the girls knew they had to be on top form to win. They started strongly but failed to capitalise until the second quarter when they finally got the break they deserved. This first goal was quickly followed by a second to give them a 2-0 lead at half-time. After the break, our girls worked an excellent goal with some lovely passing from their own half. Grange gained 2 penalty corners but both attempts were charged down but Emily W and Christina before they had success with a third attempt in the fourth quarter. This proved to be a consolation goal as the match ended 3-1. Players, coaches and their noisy support crew all jumped for joy as they were crowned Scottish Cup winners. Goalscorers in the Finals: Amelie M (2), Ellie O (1). All involved have worked exceedingly hard this season to bring about this success. Well done to all the girls involved and their coaches-Janice and Billy.
