Management Committee met on 7th July and made the following decisions.
Senior team structures, training schedule and pre-season kick off events
- No change to senior team structures
- L3s and L5s will swap training nights MondayWednesday. Otherwise, no change.
- Pre-season trials and training will commence 6th August
Volunteer recruitment status and action plan
- Main success has been the formation of an events committee to run our social activities and associated fund raising. Thanks were given to Sam Laurie for agreeing to lead the group.
- Principle to be adopted in spirit of “Community” – every member should support at least one fundraising activity per annum
Communication
- Action plan to be agreed at next month’s meeting
Sign-off 2025/26 calendar of events
- Agreed to use the website calendar function to make events visible to all members.
Mandatory Lighthouse training for coaches, on-field helpers and players
- Agreed that all coaches, club leaders, players to attend one of the briefing sessions being planned for the start of season.
Budget for 2025/26
- Principle agreed that club will try to operate at 10% below last year’s budget until membership and fundraising revenue is clear.
- A hard and fast no pay, no play rule will be enforced in the coming season. Both membership fees to the club and registration fees to Scottish Hockey must be paid before a member is allowed to participate in training or matches after 4th September.
Meggetland Clubhouse relationship being formalised to make usage more attractive financially.
