Many of the boys had been in action earlier in the day at the U14s Meadowmill tournament, and at times a combination of tired legs and high temperatures were evident against a physically imposing Fidra team (mostly older than our youthful squad). This was particularly the case in the first quarter when Fidra hemmed the team into their own 25 yards during an early period of sustained pressure. A series of fine saves from Isaac kept the Lions at bay during the first quarter, but the pressure eventually resulted in Fidra scoring in the second quarter. Some counter-attacking moves began to start coming together towards half time, and following Cameron's half time team talk, the team performed increasingly fluently during the second half. A speedy counter attack lead to Kieran equalising, and further promising moves involving Thomas, Fergus and Alastair (amongst others) looked like the game might be heading Cala's way. Fidra remained a constant threat however, and went back into the lead with a well worked second goal. Given the heat and exhaustion, it was a real credit to the team that heads did not drop at this point and ongoing hard work by the whole team helped create Kieran's second goal to bring the scores level. Solid defending saw off some late pressure for a well deserved draw.

Well done all round for a great team performance, fingers crossed for a win against Inverleith Vipers next week to finish off the season.
